The Second Annual MCC Community Family Fest moves to the Muskegon Lake shoreline on Saturday, June 3

Muskegon – The Second Annual MCC Community Family Fest moves to the Muskegon Lake shoreline Fitness Center on Saturday, June 3, when residents of all ages can enjoy fun and educational activities.

Previously held on the MCC main campus, this year’s event runs from noon to 3 p.m. at the MCC Lakeshore Fitness Center, 900 W. Western Ave., in Muskegon.

“We invite the community to stop by and enjoy free food, a variety of activities, great entertainment and to experience our Lakeshore Fitness Center,” said Trynette Lottie-Harps, dean of community outreach at the college. “We want our community to visit our new locations downtown, learn about our programs and connect with our staff.  We’ve had great support throughout the years and we feel honored to be able to share what we’ve done and what we’re doing at MCC.”

Among the fun activities scheduled for the youngsters are bouncy houses, train rides, face painting, make-and-take crafts, games, chalk art, karate demonstrations, life-sized Jenga, gaga ball, and much more. There will be live music provided.

The whole family can participate in fitness center tours, family-friendly Pilates and Zumba exercises, a picnic with free food, onsite body screenings, and an appearance by Jayhawk, the MCC mascot.

Everyone can board the trolley that will make loops past the new MCC Downtown Center, which includes the Applied Technology Department and the Rooks|Sarnicola Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies. Along the way, MCC Historian Kurt Troutman will provide insights into Muskegon’s landmarks.
