Muskegon  –From fitness tips to health screenings to free giveaways, the Lakeshore Women’s Expo has something for almost everyone.

The expo is the first event hosted by the Women of Purpose auxiliary of the Church of God Holy Faith. The purpose is to empower women with information to promote health and wellness.

The best part is that it is free and open to the public, including men and children, said event coordinator, Yvonne Morrisey-Zang.

She believes that ministry must go beyond church walls and “into the field to empower people,” she said. “Our purpose is God’s business. We wanted everything to be free so that people can come and enjoy an event of this nature” with as few barriers as possible, said Morrisey-Zang.

A variety of services, health screenings and vendors will be on hand, including American Red Cross, Every Woman’s Place, Eye Care One, Family Fitness, Grand Haven Room Escape, Harbor Hospice, Health Project, HealthWest, JC Penney Salon, Lakeshore Fitness Center, Muskegon Area Intermediate School District, Muskegon Family Care, Pioneer Resources, Public Health, Snapology Jewelry, Salomon’s Karate Studio, and Younique cosmetics.

Besides vendors, there will be a variety of presentations and live entertainment, such as pain management without prescription drugs; belly dance fitness, self-defense, Zumba, and and CPR. There will also be songs of worship from the Church of God Holy Faith praise team, and a Fall Fashion Show featuring models and attire from the Lakes Mall shops.

Other sponsors include Community Shores Bank, Meijer, Muskegon Family care, and Muskegon Federal Credit Union.

More than 100 items will be given away to participants.
